! A philosopher on the hunt for knowledge overlooks the fact that he himself is part of the system he wants to understand. Again and again he tries to catch the top.

The experimental animation film »Das dumme Holzstück« is an audiovisual interpretation of the parable »Der Kreisel« by Franz Kafka. It treats – even today – principles of philosophy and physics and interprets them in a satirical way.
The work sees itself as a cultural endeavor for the author Franz Kafka and his work.
